The Judicial Pacific Participation Fund is a new professional development initiative supported by New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade and Ministry of Justice. It recognises the goodwill and close relationships which exist between the New Zealand and Pacific Island judiciaries and provides development opportunities and activities for judges, judicial officers and court officers throughout the Pacific.

Increasing the strength of and respect for the courts, judiciary, and the rule of law in the Pacific is a key focus of this Fund. A strong and independent judiciary in the Pacific enhances its reputation as a stable, high-quality legal environment for citizens and businesses.

The Judicial Office for Higher Courts manages the programme on behalf of the New Zealand Judiciary through the New Zealand Institute of Judicial Studies. On this website you can find all you need to know about education and development activities, eligibility criteria and how to apply for funding.

The fund ends in June 2019.
